1. USD. The US Dollar Index rose by the most since January 2016.

2. SPX gap-up. "From the open on a 2%+ gap up day, SPY has averaged declines one week and one month later with positive performance only 55% of the time at best."

3. Vol-control funds. "Volatility-controlled funds are expected to buy $50 billion of US shares in the next month and a total of $110 billion through January, according to an analysis by Nomura."

4. SPX new highs. New highs surged across timeframes today.

5. Sharpe ratio. "The S&P 500 index's Sharpe ratio is 2.6. That's better than 95% of the time since WW2. And that's despite the fact that the risk-free rate is close to a 25-year high."
